Wprowadzenie
DEPOS prowadzi badania systemów depozycyjnych pod różnorodnym kątem i w różnej skali: od zrozumienia genezy skał osadowych, środowiska ich sedymentacji, warunków paleśrodowiskowych i paleoklimatycznych, późniejszych przemian, po rekonstrukcję proweniencji materiału klastycznego, analizę basenów sedymentacyjnych i rozpoznanie architektury systemów depozycyjnych. W tych obszarach stosujemy zarówno klasyczne, jak i nowoczesne oraz interdyscyplinarne badania łączące sedymentologię z metodami petrograficznymi, mineralogicznymi i geochemicznymi. Interesują nas w systemy klastyczne i mieszane, zarówno morskie i lądowe. Do bardziej specyficznych typów skał, które badamy, należą paleogleby, konkrecje, ichnolity, węglany wysiękowe, egzotyki.
