From 4 to 9 October 2026, the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (ING PAN) hosted Prof. Joseph Cartwright from the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Oxford (United Kingdom) as part of a study visit related to the scientific collaboration between the Seismic Interpretation and Basin Analysis Research Group (SeisSed) and the Shell Geosciences Laboratory in Oxford, headed by Prof. Cartwright.
During the visit, Prof. Cartwright also delivered a scientific lecture entitled “A comparison of the Messinian and Zechstein evaporite depositional systems: insights based on integrating geophysical and petrophysical data”.
The visit was funded by the International Cooperation Office of the Polish Academy of Sciences under Agreement no. BWZ.0610.WS.P.74.2026.
The visit was coordinated by Dr Łukasz Słonka (ING PAN).
