We are pleased to invite you to the 8th annual conference of the Consortium Centre for Research on the Pleistocene and Holocene Fauna of Europe entitled “Interdisciplinary Research on the Pleistocene and Holocene Fauna of Eurasia”. The conference will take place on 16–18 September 2026 at the Mammal Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Białowieża.

The conference is co-organised by the Committee on Environmental and Evolutionary Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The conference will be co-funded by the Polish Academy of Sciences under the Open Science Programme.

The conference brings together both experienced and early-career researchers, PhD candidates, and students representing a range of scientific disciplines (e.g. ecology, palaeontology, biochemistry, palaeogenetics, archaeology, anthropology, geology, and isotope geochemistry).

The conference topics include the latest research findings and future research plans concerning the evolution, ecology, archaeozoology, diversity, and biogeography of Quaternary fauna in Eurasia. The main focus is on studies of Pleistocene and Holocene vertebrate fauna of Central Europe; however, contributions addressing other taxonomic groups, actualistic studies, and research covering the entire Eurasian continent are also welcome.
