On 19 September, the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (ING PAN) hosted a meeting dedicated to strengthening scientific cooperation between the Institute and Vietnamese research institutions. The discussions placed particular emphasis on the activities of the Polish-Vietnamese Tropical Research Center, in which ING PAN is a co-consortium partner.
The Vietnamese delegation was led by Mr. Trần Quý Kiên, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam. He was accompanied by Mr. Hà Hoàng Hải, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Trịnh Hải Sơn, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources, along with a number of distinguished Vietnamese geologists.

Prof. Marek Konarzewski, President of the Polish Academy of Sciences,
Prof. Stanisław Mazur, Director of ING PAN,
Prof. Jarosław Stolarski, Director of the Institute of Paleobiology, PAS,
Mr. Sebastian Domżalski, Deputy Director of the Asia and Pacific Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Mr. Maciej Młynarczyk, Director of the Department of Geology, Ministry of Climate and Environment,
Prof. Konrad Zawadzki, Director of the Biological and Chemical Research Centre, University of Warsaw,
together with numerous researchers and staff members of ING PAN.
The meeting highlighted the scientific achievements of ING PAN and the Institute of Paleobiology, PAS. A presentation was delivered by Dr. Edyta Zawisza, who showcased the latest research findings on lake sediments from West Lake in Hanoi.
