The Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences has been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the first time. The Charter is granted by the European Commission.
This marks an important step in the further internationalisation of IGS PAS. The ECHE enables the Institute to participate in Erasmus+ higher education activities and to apply for funding supporting the mobility of doctoral students and staff. The ECHE itself does not automatically provide funding; financial support will be sought through forthcoming Erasmus+ calls.
At the initial stage, IGS PAS plans to focus on Learning Mobility, including doctoral mobility for study and traineeships, and staff mobility for training and teaching.
Dr Anna Gumsley will serve as the Erasmus+ Coordinator at IGS PAS.
A dedicated Erasmus+ section will soon be launched on the IGS PAS website, with information on participation opportunities and mobility rules.
