From the life of the institute

We are proud to inform that on October 9, 2023, the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Earth Sciences was signed between the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IGS PAS) and Diponegoro University (UNDIP, Semarang, Indonesia).

UNDIP was represented by the dean, dr R. Bambang Sularto  and vice-dean, prof. Tri Retnaningsih Soeprobowati. On behalf of IGS PAS, the discussions were attended by prof. Dr hab. Stanisław Mazur (Director of IGS PAS), dr hab. Helena Hercman (Head of the Research Center of IGS PAS in Warsaw), dr hab. Łukasz Kruszewski, and dr Marta Wojewódka-Przybył. During the meeting, further possibilities for collaboration in research projects and publications were discussed. The signing ceremony of the memorandum was preceded by a lecture by prof. Tri Retnaningsih Soeprobowati titled "Environmental Issues in Indonesia and the Importance of Paleolimnological Studies."

We kindly inform that on 24th of May 2023 the President of Polish Academy of Sciences - Prof. Marek Konarzewski) has appointed Prof. Stanislaw Mazur for a 4-year term as director of Institute of Geological Sciences, PAS.

We are pleased to announce that Petroleum Experts Ltd has kindy extended the donation of 10 academic licenses of the MOVE v. 2022. 1 software for another year. The donation equivalent is 1 872 217,38 GBP.
The software will be used in PhD research projects and statutory tasks at the Institute of Geological Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences.
