CONDUCTS A 4-YEAR PhD STUDY PROGRAMME
IN ITS BRANCHES IN KRAKÓW, WARSZAWA AND WROCŁAW
The enrolling students can currently undertake research on problems related to: the isotope geochemistry of sedimentary rocks and ground waters; water-rock interaction during diagenetic processes; Quaternary geochronology; the structural geology and petrology of sediments; the mineralogy and geochemistry of ultramafic and high-pressure rocks; clay mineralogy; palaeoecology and micropalaeontology; the sedimentology of clastic rocks and basin analysis; and the tectonics and petrology of crystalline rocks.
Candidates who have obtained an M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in the natural sciences can apply to take the entry colloquium (the exact date is announced separately before each term). Applications should be submitted to the head of the Programme at the address indicated below, accompanied by a copy of the candidate's M.Sc. diploma, CV, and a letter of declaration characterizing the candidate's scientific interests and motivation for research work
The academic year starts on the 2nd of January. The PhD should be completed within 4 years. By the end of this period, a written thesis is to be submitted and defended (presented) in public. A successful student is awarded a doctorate degree in geology.
